WIFI speed issue

I was wondering what might be limiting the speed of the wifi from the vega. When testing it I get about 2.5 Mbps (307 kB/s) while on my samsung galaxy s I get 7 Mbps (837 kB/s) over the same wifi network!

Are there any setting I could change? Is this the actual limit of the chip used? What speeds are you ppl getting? That combined with wifi turning off in standby (good luck using spotify :( ) would make the wifi kind of a turndown.

My wi-fi link is running at 24 Mbps and I didn't do anything to improve matters but if you live somewhere where there are a lot of other wi-fi routers it might be worth changing the channel on your router as most default to channel 11 I think and so you could be getting interference from them.

Hmmm, could give that a try... Still don't understand why my galaxy s gives a proper speed though :( I'm talking specifically about wifi on the vega though, not my wifi router itself, that one seems to be working fine. Do you get that high of a speed on your vega as well?

Using speedtest.net I get about 10Mbps from both vega and ethernet wired pc. What router have you got? Maybe try disabling some vendor specific extensions like speedboost or afterburner. Might be a compatibility issue between the atheros card on the vega and the access point.

Speedtest.net just crashes on my tablet - bit odd...

Have you got compatibility mode or off in spare parts?

Using dolphin he browser & speedtest I get over 14.7mb/s on 20mb/s service. Lots of Xbox & UPC traffic thru router so am happy.

Install and run "my fake location" - its crashing as app tries to query the (non existent) gps

Yes the 27 Mbps was read off the Vega rather than the router
