installing 16g card advent vega

Hi all i am new to android software and need some help.

Just bought a advent vega and want to install a 16g micro sd card before installing the custom ROM.

How do i format /setup the sd card.

are the any pitfalls i should look out for when installing the ROM.

what is the newest version of the ROM available.

any help very much appreciated hope you all had a good Christmas keep up the good work.

I just formatted using fat32, copied contents of old card to new, slotted in and good to go!
