I saved a bit of money over Christmas and I am thinking of buying a new phone.

I´m a bit tired of a phone which is never good enough to play recent games and want to all out on a high-end superphone.

And because these phones are very expensive, I don´t want to waste any money on a handset which is not up to scratch.

Please make some helpful :( suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Really? You need to ask? :(

The all-mighty NEXUS S!

not worth it, spec wise it isn't that great. only nfc chip which is "different" from normal phones.

sure you get an super amoled screen and a 1ghz processor but it just isn't worth £430 appx. ok it will get updates first

its best if you wait for dual core ones to come out.i got given a desire hd as a gift in November, i wanted a desire z since it was rumoured. i have been due an upgrade since 10th of december yet i have chosen to rather wait for a dual core phone instead of buy my beloved desire z. there is no point as they have been promised in a couple of months. so you buy one now and you will be like WTF did i waste my money on LOL.

another note is as the android OS will improve regularly, it is worth noting that applications will improve with this. example i will give is the sony playstation phone. so much is happening in 2011 there is no point throwing your money. with that said if you are from the UK, VAT increases on the 4th so things will be expensive after that.

Yeah, I was thinking of a dual-core phone running 3.0, since the pulse has some very smooth 2.2.

But I still want your opinion :(

Pulse was and is a nice phone for getting to know android but there's just to much that it just can't do and never will.

Mine, running on the latest cyanogen port is actually running pretty good...but over the last few days I decided to get a new one aswell.

I had my eye on the N1 and the "old" desire, cause I don't really need a super expensive high end phone like the desire hd,galaxy s,or NS.

Anyway after a lot of reading I decided to get the desire cause it's just better in many ways compared to the N1.

Going to order it tomorrow.:(

HTC Desire Z.

JESUS CHRIST IT'S LIKE ELEVENTY BILLION TIMES FASTER THAN THE PULSE.

I'm not rooted yet though, me and a dude on XDA are trying to downgrade to an earlier ROM.

You know Modaco Pulse is still my homepage :(

Similar situation ... had Pulse for a year and this has definitely sold me on the Android/smartphone idea. Main issue for moving is getting a better phone on a tarrif that suits me ... I basically use mhy phone 99% for data and apps as I make few voice calls on it thus the 300/600/900 mins/month tariffs that come with the best phones give me the feeling I'll be paying for stuff I don;t use!

Other factor is that mobile phone tech ismoving forward very fast at the moment - dual cores, cortex-A9, newer android versions - so there's also the danger of getting locked into a 24month contract with a phone that may start to look a liitle "tired" in only a few months. Probably a good move to see what gets announced in the big trade shows in January to get an idea where phones are going over the next year or so before making the jump.

Nah. Ive only had it for a day and it seeing as £200 is alot of money for me, im not going to mess about with it, just leave it in pristine condition. It does everything I want it to do tho =) (Music and games) which i couldnt do at the same time on the pulse because if I found a decent game for android, then found enough room on my pulse to install it, then actually got it to boot, it would be so laggy i would die, and the music would crash.

Which touch?

1G / 2G MB / 2G MC / 3G (larger than 8GB) / 4G?

If it's 1G or 4G, you can install Android on it.

Also - JAILBREAK IT NAO! Seriously, it's so much better then.

EDIT - Only the 1G has Android ATM - I'm sure I read 4G somewhere...

I want one of those. I don't have £400 plus to spend on one though :(

I want one also, in january I will have the money as my grant for uni will come into my bank

Ill probably wait until I know there is a community for the phone and whether paul will be working on it and has a working clockwork image

not worth it :(

its the "first" dual core phone..

just let me remind you of the G1, first android phone. i love mine but seriously wasn't funny when the hero came out and ripped its specs apart (at that time lol) then the nexus 1 came out and the faded away.

i don't know of many LG phones with a good community behind them. you might want to hold out until a pulse with dual core gets built hehehehe ;)

how long before budget dual core phones flood the market as dual core is going to become the "norm" from june (yes well aware thats in 6 months time lol)
