Advent Vega keyboard problems

Hi.

Total novice here looking for some advice. Just bought two Vegas for my kids who are already driving me crazy. When they are on Facebook using messenger and trying to respond to a message, they click in the box the virtual keyboard pops up for a second then disappears making it impossible to reply. Any help would be much appreciated as I can't find anything online.

Try using the pop out chat.. or make sure when selecting the chat box its not registering a double key press thus opening and closing immediatly. I use fb chat and have no issues so in theory it should be ok. Try smart keyboard also. Get a smaller customisable kb that I think works better

Are you using the browser that came with the Vega? I had problems on not being able to type in certain boxes if I was using the standard browser. You could try another browser. Dolphin HD or Miren are both better than the standard and available from the market for free.

I get that problem too, no matter what browser I've used. It must be a facebook problem rather than a Vega one I think. The only way I could update my status on face book is to actually go to my own profile page (rather than my wall)

However the new FB app works pretty well (after the portrait home page) the new version has chat too.

Thanks for that, dont realy want to change browser as the kids are only using them to browse, facebook etc. I want to leave them standard for now, maybe in the future if they want to download some apps I will try Pauls mods. I stilll can't find a solution to the FB problem they are using the the new FB but the chat is unusable. Thanks again for your help I will keep searching.

The Facebook app (not the new Facebook web page, a downloaded app from the market) seems to work fine for me, even in chat, just as debs626 said. The portrait home page is a pain however.

Unfortunately I am not confident enough to try and mod them to gain access to the market but thanks for your advice.
