Guest Buchtis Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 Hey all, Wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a good emulator for the golden oldies like the SNES and Genesis. I've seen a load on the market place but don't know which ones are the best/easiest to use so would like suggestions on what to download and also where to get game ROMs. Thanks and have a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
Guest Blake Loring Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 Most of the emulators by youngz or something like that (I can't remember exactly) like Gensoid and Gameboid will run games pretty much fine (Maybe a bit of fiddling with the settings) on the 2.2 ROM I run, Even Some PS1 games run at reasonable enough framerates
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 humm there are : psx4droid Android Arcade Emulator CPS2HD Emulator (Capcom Play System 2 Arcade) GameBoid GBCoid Gensoid Nesoid SNesoid for the roms a quick google and you should find them
Guest fryguyse Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 Gameboid and Snesoid works pretty good (and ofcourse also Nesoid and the Mastersystem emulator). But psx4droid is not usable on the Blade imo.
Guest WodgeFTW Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 http://www.appbrain.com/app/emulator-roms/...oolcode.emuroms thats the app i use to find roms, looks nicer than rom gripper, being updated alot as well.
Guest cartierv Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 The Snesoid and gboid are good. But there's some bug when you flip to landscape mode. The whole game will slow down to a crawl until you force quit the emulator and restart it again. But ANYTHING you do, like switch to another app. or just go the the settings menu in snesoid or whatever and swtich back will cause the game to slow to a crawl again. I don't know what's happening there. Also if snesoid's controls are at the bottom, it can launch the browser for some reason. Also it's very very fiddly playing these games on a flat touch screen. Also I suspect the multitouch issue is a problem here
Guest G0DSPEED Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 (edited) I find Frodo (C64) fantastic. Can't believe I can play the games I created in the 80's/90's on my phone :( Problem I've got is that all the images of them I can find have other peoples intros and trainers stuck onto them ;) Edit: FRODO not froyo! doh! Guest Buchtis Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 Thanks a lot for all the replies, i'll try some out now. Are all of them compatible with 2.1? I've installed BladeVillan's ROM.
