Guest sanfranguy Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 I have also just unlocked a San Fran to O2 but now need to sort out the internet connection. You mention that the APN settings will fix this but I can't find the settings in the thread. Can anyone help with passing them my way? Thanks! Have bought the phone for my wife and am really impressed with it. Have an iPhone myself, but am not convinced the price difference justifies it anymore. Maybe the gremlins will show up over time?

Maybe the gremlins will show up over time? it took me ages to search the right settings for my simplicity sim....these work for me (copied from another site) also check for typos, i'd put ; instead of : on 1 failed attempt Press ‘Menu’. Tap ‘Settings’. Tap ‘Wireless Controls’. Tap ‘Mobile networks’. Tap ‘Access Point Names’. Press ‘Menu’. Tap ‘Add APN’ Now key in the following settings: Name: mobile web APN: mobile.o2.co.uk Proxy: *LEAVE BLANK* Port: *LEAVE BLANK* Username: o2web Password: password Server: *LEAVE BLANK* MMSC: *LEAVE BLANK* MMS Proxy: *LEAVE BLANK* MMS Port: *LEAVE BLANK* MCC: 234 MNC: 10 APN Type: default Press ‘Menu’ Tap ‘Save’ Press ‘Back’. Press ‘Menu’. Tap ‘Add APN’ Name: O2 MMS APN: wap.o2.co.uk Proxy: http://wap.o2.co.uk Port:9201 Username: o2wap Password: password Server: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002 MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002 MMSproxy: 193.113.200.195 MMS port: 8080 MCC: 234 MNC: 10 APN type: mms Press ‘Menu’ Tap ‘Save’ You’re all done now pretty much. Keep tapping ‘Back’ until you’re back at your Home screen then restart your phone and you should now have G/E/3G/H internet access as well as the ability to send/receive MMS.
Guest aylesby Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 I am now 95% hero to my daughter in getting the sf on O2 as it worked. I lost 5% when the saved contacts disappeared from her sim.
