I installed 2.1 and got everything happy - but now want to go up to 2.2 to get the Wifi fix!

I'm sure i saw somewhere an application which backs up contacts, messages, pictures, etc to memory card - so you can then do a full wipe and install 2.2, and then restore?

ANyone got the name of it?

THanks!!!

Would also like to know this. With the amount of new roms being released (which is fantastic) I would like to know the best way to save all my data. Nothing worse than losing all my messages and levels in angry birds :(

i dont bother saving any messages these days, contacts are synched with google so thats easy.

I find it fun adding all my apps again :-

Titanium will restore the settings in most user apps, although I never bother restoring sms.etc with it but I think it can do it.

I use Titanium - the paid version, but for SMS restoration I downloaded SMS Backup and Restore - it's free, and I've had no issues with it. I'm a sentimental sod, and there are text messages I want to keep, so I made doubly sure.

Can the clockwork recovery do a complete backup of everything on the phone and save to an image?

I want to change to another ROM but its a pain in the arse using titanium pro and going through it all for an hour, installing apps+data etc.

Cheers

I always assumed that it could as there was a backup option that I read in the sticky when flashing my phone for this first time. But I may be mistaken as there is a column that says titanium backup yes/no for each type of ROM.

cant say for sms messages (i'm 95% sure it works; dont see why not). clockwork mod is a full phone backup/restore.

keeps everything intact ime.

s'wat i use prior to flashing a new rom, incase it all goes wrong.

clockwork is a filesystem restore. titanium (from what i've picked up) is an app-level restore, so even when moving between roms, data backed up with titanium will be restored.
