If I install Rls9 onto a brand new never before used device will it need to be wiped or can I just load the required downloads on to my SD and TPT it?

TPT automatically wipes everything.

Hi,

I have a major problem. I'm unable to add a new contact. When I do i get the following error

The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

Im running RL59 and have tried clearing data on the 3 contact applications and a factory reset but still the same error.

Thanks

You're gonna get the same answer for any problem which isn't well established. Wipe and reflash. If it still doesn't work try a different ROM.

Views are ok, but I think 400 postings are ridiculous. There is no decent way to search within a thread, so you have to read all 4000 postings??? Maybe that explains the views.

No really, this thread should be a sub-forum.

Install Japanese_Jellyfish_RLS9_ahb_overclocked.zip and Japanese_Jellyfish_RLS9_hw_ui.zip.

Overclock.

Increase vm heap size.

After this it should run smoother.

do you think thats the only solution

my rls7 wasnt over clocked and didnt have hwui enabled(i think)

yet pes2011 was much smoother

oh....and any negative effects of overclocking

Not sure if that is only solution but that should work.

Negative effects: worse batterylife when playing (better in idle if you underclock too) and phone gets warm easier.

It's just that Hardware accel is turned off. Install the add-on via Clockwork.

HW accel doesn't make any difference to normal UI operation...

Waste of effort.

But does it have any negatives? I've heard reports that it adversely affects battery life. Is it true? :(

I used 7 for ages, was perfectly fine, just installed 9 and can't set up a google account over WiFi.

Complete bollox, won't touch JJ again =o(

13-03-11: Bollox was all mine - nothing to do with the ROM =O( wiping and flashing with any ROM wouldn't resolve the problem but for some reason a factory reset from within the phone software fixed it. Humble pie - eaten.
