Best bet is to use the "Task Manager" app, and choose "Resource" tab. If the system total memory line is: 400 M or above you have the 512MB, if only 160-200M then its the 256MB version (that *could be* faulty, and fixed with a special software update)
Guest Stryke69 Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 And as I read in another thread, maybe all SF do have 512MB, it's just a problem with the firmware to recognize it...

Guest PeaNut_HU Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 (edited) what do you mean by that? like they all have 512mb, but seen only 256mb? You can head over to our thread and read through it if you are interested: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...memory-problem/ But in a nutshell, it seems some devices by ZTE were affected by a bug or low-level firmware miscoding that led to only recognize 256MB of the 512MB ram physically built-in. So far the ZTE Blade sold by T-Mobile Hungary were affected for sure. Edited December 27, 2010 by PeaNut_HU

Guest heavyduty00 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) yea 270 available memory it says in my task killer after i have killed my apps. If that is normal what happened to my other 200+ ram? Is it used to control android os? usually about 200 ish available memory though when I am playing on it etc. Where do you check total ram? Shouldnt you have 512 mb ram total though? Also I am running sebs de-orangenated rom but might install a froyo rom in next few days once I have more time. What rom do you have? Guest Raspa Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 My san fran only says around 270 available memory ... does this mean i only have 256 ram??! You have 270MB available. Obviously things will be using RAM so how on earth can you deduce that you have 256MB of RAM? 270>256.

Guest heavyduty00 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 ok thanks yea it says my total ram is 414, used is 150, and available is 265. What happens to the other 100 ram though? since 500-400= 100 ram left over?
Guest PeaNut_HU Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 ok thanks yea it says my total ram is 414, used is 150, and available is 265. What happens to the other 100 ram though? since 500-400= 100 ram left over? The memory is divided beetween parts of the phone and you never get to use the full 512MB, it is so by design on most phones, the operating system, the installed apps, the special firmware driver parts and other things that you can't see but are required for your device to work all take up space from the 512MB. So Total RAM is about 416MB on 512MB devices, and about half of this on the buggy devices (about 160-200M).
