Guest Stevieblueyez Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 I've bought a 2nd one of these for my Dad in Ireland as a present for Christmas. I've flashed it successfully with the Froyo Alpha v3 but have since found that his SIM won't DATA connection (it's blocked by O2 Irelandon his SIM). Is it possible to use another sim in this phone to get it setup on Gmail and Marketplace, then swap it back over. He'll only ever use it via Wifi at home afterwards once it's setup. My fear is that the phone will associate his gmail acount with his mobile number. Anyone know if this is possible. Steve

Guest Stevieblueyez Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Hmm, which network was that on? Phone was bought from Orange. The SIM is with O2 Ireland. I'm hoping that I can buy a PAYG sim and then put that in, register with Gmail and Android, then swap them back over and the phone will be happy and let him connect to Marketplace via Wifi.
Guest Stevieblueyez Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Just to clarify, I bought the handset from Orange in the UK.
Guest madnav Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 you can swap n any sim card. sim card and google account has no connection. you dont need to swap sim card to setup google services if you have active wifi in the 1st place.
