Hello All

First post.

Is there anyway to stop messages popping up on screen?

I would rather a simple "New message received" then actual viewing.

I can live without the screen lock which disappeared when i upgraded to 2.2 but this message viewing will cause me grief if not resolved soon.

The stock Message app doesn't do this? You normally have to install something like SMS Popup....What messaging app are you using?

Firstly thanks for replying.

It is the stock message app. Another problem I have had is if I was to try and forward any message it brings on a directory that is alien to the one in the cointacts plus I cannot edit or delete any of the contacts.

I have tried handcent and am presently using chomp.

Is there a way of uninstalling and reinstalling the messaging app?

Am considering trying another Rom if this carries on. :(

PS I tried to disable it with startup auditor but it only succeeded in mesing up my notification ring tone.
