How sensitive is your touchscreen?

Has anyone else noticed that touchscreen is not really sensitive?

On my old Pulse the touchscreen was much better - on ZTE I am constantly missing buttons, keys etc.

Its not bad to be called malfunctioning but its not just as responsive as the old Pulse was.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or my touchscreen is worst?

I tried it out now, it is around the same as with my old Pulse.

I have a TFT Blade.

for me i have found that it is heast sensitive, to a point. For example, when its hot, IE when charging, It gets warm and the screen becomes more sensitive.

But, when its cold, for example when i put it in my jacket when riding my motorbike to work at 10pm, when i get off and use the phone, its less sensitive. I think its normal tbh, my old iphone did it. The phone is gonna be less senstive because it cost £99, cant expect perection, but this phone is as close as it comes :(

Yes at times I find the touch a little lacking. Sometimes scrolling, it seems to forget and then tries to make up for it by scrolling super quick in whatever direction.

Other times if you are trying to do something that requires precision, like aim something in a game than has a direction then you find the screen is just not sensitive enough at a fine resolution to do this very well and when you take your thumb or finger away the thing you are aiming tends to jump slightly.

Apparently though this kind of thing is still a problem on even the iPad, but I suspect the OSF's touch is not that great.

Finally there are general multi-touch issues with this device (it's been reported here that it is suspected dual-touch) and I think this creates severe problems for anything more than pinch zoom. I suspect >2 is actually neccessary to do a lot of stuff 2 fingers 'should' do just to allow for errors. But I wonder if some kind of hack is possible there.

Mine isn't as sensitive as my old magic ones was... and that's a bit embarassing since my magic isaged almost one and a half year ...;)

If you put your finger on it for a bit longer (without moving) e.g while scrolling in browser i put my finger on it, read the last lines and then want to scroll it seems like missing the scrolling and a second or two later it scrolls down like hell without touching again... then i have to scroll up..

It seems to my like it has some problems to recognize movements if you had a longer contact with it...

I've used an OLED Blade for three months and a TFT Blade for a couple of hours. The touch screen response seems good on both.

My God did I get a shock when I went to use my girlfriend's TomTom - the bloody machine wouldn't respond to my newly acquired delicate touch and I had to mash my finger against the screen to make it respond - and then it kept getting it wrong. Awful!

Like the 1.5 pulse the touch screen responds best when you have your hand touching the back (While holding it) not so well when lying down

My first one started a bit insensitive and glitchy & it got worse over a week until it stopped working altogether. I exchanged it a couple of days ago & my new one is much better, just as sensitive as a htc desire, even with the screen protector on (I daren't remove it yet), no problems so far. So I think there are a few defective screens around, but it should be really good.

I still believe this could be a driver related problem.

Maybe I'm wrong, but why not do a bit research on that?

I'm still searching the type of the built-in digitizer + source codes of the touchscreen driver.

I've noticed that as well - you seem to have to be holding the phone - which is reasonable most of the time I guess!

I think it's more to do with hardware, the build quality seems to be variable. The new one I've got seems really good, so far, the buttons fit better, the back fits on better & the touchscreen is much better than my original phone that I got 10 days before that & had to get replaced because the touchscreen stopped responding altogether. I've not had it 2 days yet, but so far so good, it doesn't matter how i hold this one, the screen protector is still on, the touchscreen works perfectly so far, it's fast accurate & i've not had any freezes or glitches.

I don't doubt that the driver could be improved, with source code. Even if it is hardware problems, maybe there could be some fixes in the drivers to help. Shouldn't ZTE be releasing the source under the GPL?
