Help with fastboot

Hi am a noob when it comes to stuf like this when i try and go in fastboot on my vista pc i keep geting a message

C:/users/STEELE/appData/Local/Rar$EX040/_MACOSX_FASTB~1.EXE

The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.

CS:11f9 IP:010a op63 20 4F 53 20 choose close to terminate the application

i dont have a clue what this means :(
