I have been experiencing slow performance after screen timeout. I suspect the vega goes into susspend mode (correct me if im wrong)

A reboot seemed to restore performance.

Anyone else had this. Is it another bug we need to live with?

Yes I get this a lot too, its quite annoying, but not disasterous, am hoping for a future patch to resolve the issue.

It seems to me that when the screen times out, the device turns off several components, such as wifi, to save battery. This also has the annoying effect of not receiving enlmail notifications while the vega screen is off. It seems to me that when you wake the device up it has to turn all this stuff back on and so yu get some slowdown. Someone correct me if i am wrong?

I get this a lot, and it seems that no matter how long you leave it there is no improvement until you reboot.

Must be a bug....

Even thought I have yet to get my Vega (damn stock!)....

It seems to me like the kernel clocking down the CPU and not stepping up again, so in theory when the kernel sources are released, Paul/me/anyone should be able to re-compile the kernel with ondemand or smartass as the default govenor to resolve this issue...

my 2 cents..

Yes... i can see where you are coming from, at times my sf is faster than my vega.... and i thought about this cpu issue aswell, would also be nice if we got a kernal that enables overclocking!!! what can we push the tegra 2 to?

It probably doesnt need overclocking just a working govenor to make sure it gets back up to speed after the wakeup. :(

I have this problem too! just for interest sake I ran Quadrant just after boot up and got a score of 2174 but after my vega has been in sleep mode and getting the loss of performance I only got 282. This shows drastic drop in performance!
