Barnacle Issues

I am running Richards AIO v3 ROM and I keep having a particle problem with Barnacle. I can normally connect fine iniitially and keep wifi access as long as I continuously use the connection. However if I leave it idle for a few minutes (maybe five, or so?) the wireless icon on my laptop (Win7) gets an exclamation mark on it and I no longer have internet access. Initially I thought it might be to do with lease renewal on barnacle so extended that to no avail. I also set the wireless connection to remain active when the phone screen turns off (not the problem but thought I would do it anyway) and set the screen timeout to 30 minutes. I still have the problem and the one time I remembered to ipconfig I noticed no gateway was specified when I lost internet connectivity. Any suggestions?
