Guest Zebrahead Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Hey all, thanks for any help in advance! I'm having a little bit of trouble - upon booting my vega, it seems I get stuck trying to load an app that I started using (Perfect Task Switcher - org.arbold.android.taskswitcher) rather than launcher. This task switcher repeatedly force closes, not allowing any use of the launcher (presumably because it's a task switcher, not a launcher). Now this didn't seem too bad - I'd just boot into and adb shell and uninstall the Task Switcher... But this is a problem as I'm in USB Host mode and can't be mounted as a slave. So just flash the slave image? If anyone could guide me on booting into recovery without the use of the modaco recovery apk (as I can't get to my launcher to launch it), I'd be very thankful! Also, if anyone can think of how to get past the repeating force closes without flashing slave and uninstalling the Task Switcher, that would be great! I don't fancy doing a complete wipe! Many thanks ^^.
Guest Zebrahead Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Trying to boot into bootloader by combining various keys with power, and it seems every time I try to boot, I just get into recovery (power + back) :S ... Can't seem to boot to lockscreen anymore :(
Guest warriorscot Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Go to the advent site and read the flash instructions, they are pretty self explanatory on how to get into recovery mode. Why can't you uninstall the app from the application manager on the vega? And if you have to use adb for apps just use adbwireless and skip the whole usb issue.

Can't uninstall through app manager as I can't launch it. I go straight from lockscreen to repeated FC and can't get to a launcher. And adbwireless? Where can I find that? Can't find any abd options that have any wireless relation(running linux btw). Thanks
Guest Zebrahead Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Found the ADB wireless connectivity, although my vega is still stuck on a empty baclkit screen - from other threads, it seems like in trying to boot into recovery mode, having clockwork has got it stuck. And I can't format as it cant be found as a device due to it being a host :(
Guest simonta Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 You should still have "USB Slave.sh" in /sdcard/USB. Can you run the script via adb?
Guest Zebrahead Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 (edited) You should still have "USB Slave.sh" in /sdcard/USB. Can you run the script via adb? Can't connect to adb via usb as I'm in host mode, can't connect via wifi as I now seem to be stuck in some description of recovery booting mode and can't get a normal boot :( Edited December 29, 2010 by Zebrahead
Guest Zebrahead Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 *sigh of relief* It seems I've managed to boot to NvFlash recovery as this takes hold before Android shifts to USB Host mode, and this should allow me to boot from factory reset. Seems to have worked :(
