Guest am1981 Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Hi, Updated to Sebastians froyo rom last night but was unable to view the contacts on my sim I then tried changing over to the modaco 2.2 rom and had the same problem I've tried changing the view sim contact option in the contacts menu but still no joy. it seems to bring up some of my google contacts but there no good as I have never synced them. Any suggestions thanks
Guest hecatae Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 jellyfish shows sim contacts, cant comment on the two roms mentioned above as I no longer use them
Guest Gerson2k Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 The modaco ROM shows SIM contacts as I'm using that and have been for the past month.
Guest am1981 Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 The modaco ROM shows SIM contacts as I'm using that and have been for the past month. I've been through the menus so many times i'm sure theres an option i've missed. Reverting back to Sebastians ROM ...hoping it will pick up the contacts this time!
Guest Pynto R Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Where is supose to be the 'view sim contacts' option? i can only see import. (i'm new to android)
Guest am1981 Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 contacts menu -> display options
Guest Azurren Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 This is a general android bug: Open "Contacts" -> Menu -> Display Options -> "Your google account" -> Tick "All other contacts" Don't ask me why this isn't enabled by default or what makes a contact become an "Other contact" but I have always had to do this every time I flashed a new rom on every android device I have owned You can try the above, your problem sounds slightly different but could be the same :(
Guest tohc1 Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 I noticed some of my contacts missing as well in Sebastians de-softened froyo rom. To get them back: in display options ensure that sim contacts are displayed and change the "view contact names as" setting this seemed to fix it for me.

Still no luck. I rolled back to 2.1 last night and have got my contacts back. Before rolling back I tried a tesco mobile sim card and the 2.2 roms seemed to pick up the sim contacts from it! very strange how it didnt work with 2 T-mobile sims. Think i'll stick with 2.1 for the time being.

Can't you copy the Sim contacts onto the phone or SD card or something with the good rom and then put them back under the wonkier one into the phone's storage?
Guest Pynto R Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 contacts menu -> display options I supose this is only for 2.2, right? I can only see the gmail option.
