Guest cartierv Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 I noticed the other night the bundled app Sim Toolkit had vanished from my apps drawer. I did delete some orange apps a while back but never deleted this one so that's interesting. I wonder if it's part or dependent on another package. Does it matter that it's vanished ? Also I noticed that the phone doesn't see a phone number in About Phone with a giffgaff card. But as it works ok I really can't think that matters.
Guest Lew247 Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 sim toolkit only appears if the sim card supports it giffgaff doesn't it threw me for days trying to get it to show till someone explained it to me

Guest samjam Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 thanks. interesting. I worried the system had started to eat its own apps. A sure sign of trouble. Mine has. Angry Birds disappeared, although Market place showed it as installed and I could launch it from there. Also the icon to the LDS Gospel Library was replaced by the stock android icon. (The app still worked). Both apps were moved to the SD card using the normal "move to SD card" option from Settings, Applications.
