problem with ROM

i downloaded and installed the r4 rom for an Orange San Francisco as per instructions, and it worked fine, apart from the fact that the colours were slightly changed on everything - i.e. the android at startup was green, then went to a weird turquoise, then the colours weren't right i.e. al the blues were a brown colour....

i reverted back to the original orange software and tried updating to froyo instead, but got an error message about the board not being able to do something. I read somewhere that I need to use an older version of ClockworkMod Recovery, but cant find a link to any download hat works. Does anyone know a) what ould have gone wrong with the MoDaCo r4 flash that i did and / or anywhere i can get an older version (than 5.1.5.3 (i think) of clockwork) (and a working download of Android 2.2 for an Orange San Francisco). ceers for any help

Also if you got a tft sf and you download a oled rom then you get a tint i have a oled so cant really help beyond that ask someone else with a tft!
