Sound when playing a movie copied to sd card

Hi, I just copied a movie (.avi) to the sd card and then played it on the Vega. Volume was turned all the way up but not coming through to the speakers that loud at all.

When I access iplayer through the browser I get lots of volume...

Any advice?

re-encode it at a higher volume, or use volume-boosting speakers/headphones.

Use headphones would be my advice the speakers are generally rubbish.

Thanks all.

Will look encoding before moving over to sd card.

Still think i'm missing something because the unit is able to play sound through the browser.
