Download in default browser broken

This is strange, but for a while now I can't actually save anything from the default browser, like a jpg, zip or whatever. It says it is downloading but actually isn't and the progress bar in the downloads pane or notifications window is just the grey barber shop thing. Doesn't matter on the site or the file type.

What I have to do is copy the link to what I want to save and paste it into Opera to be able to save the file.

But what's happened to the regular browser (whatever it's called) that it can no longer dl (save) anything itself ? It used to work before fine

hmm, you could try Astro - menu - more - preferences - download any file through Browser
