Guest Cirno Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Hi, I am new here but not so new with an android phone. Recently I have purchased a ZTE Blade and been using it for 4 days. What I have noticed with it was it's great and good for the price it came with. However I feel concerned about one thing, I took measurement of today usage of my phone and noticed that it can't hold for 1 day. In the morning of today I charged it till 100%, it was around 08:30 the battery indicator told it was at 100%. So later on the day it went down till 21% and I couldn't understand I done nothing with it why does it drain so fast? So been looking around and tried few charging tricks and it seems to not work, is it defect? Myself I am not sure ! I am currently running the Paul's Alpha3 rom of froyo, I find it delightful working and hope its not the roms problem. I hope someone here in this forum can help me out ! Thanks in advance !
Guest zurpher Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Blade hasn't got a strong battery, unfortunately. You can install PowerTutor from the Android market to get an idea for power consumption. Screebl lite may also help you to quickly switch into hibernation. You will find more tips and tricks when you search via Ecosia .
Guest lo0p Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 In the beginning I experienced the same fast draining as Cirno but the battery seems to become better after some charging cycles. Btw, with 21% there is still a lot of time left.
Guest fonix232 Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Actually, the Blade has quite good battery life compared to it's hardware (keep in mind that the Galaxy S, what has almost the same hardware, with a lot less consuming screen, drains the battery a lot faster!). Mine can go for two days of normal usage (meaning max 2-5 hours of wifi, no 3G internet, automatic screen light, a few hours music, playing Angry Birds), after the so called CALIBRATION.
Guest NightSt@lk3r Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Since switching to Japanese Jellyfish RLS2 i have noticed that the battery life seems to be far better especially when the phone is in sleep.

I agree, it is a lot better, even when wifi is on :( But can't say an outstanding statement, as I was playing dungeon defenders all day with Jellyfish ;)
Guest Lew247 Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Dont panic too much with the battery it drops quite fast at first and then slows down I have had it on 10% around 7pm and it still enough battery to make a 30 min phone call in the morning 14 hours later
Guest rayraven Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 (edited) ^Offtopic, but i thought that game was for ARM7+ only, how good is it on the blade? Edited December 30, 2010 by rayraven
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 ^Offtopic, but i thought that game was for ARM7+ only, how good is it on the blade? run like a charm on froyo's roms
Guest fonix232 Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 I agree with my name-bro, it is perfect :( Even on high quality, it won't lag (only on the 2D panels what slide in, like main menu, hero info panel). Measured to a Galaxy S with Froyo, the GalaS loads faster, the 2D UI parts won't lag, but the 3D part DOES lag a lot.
Guest Ally Weir Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 sweet, this bodes well for the future of unreal games on the device :(
Guest obermotz Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 same with me :( Since switching to Japanese Jellyfish RLS2 i have noticed that the battery life seems to be far better especially when the phone is in sleep.
Guest Rotmann Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 This could be the dialer eating up your battery, it was a serious issue in Paul's alphas but it should have been fixed. Check out what eats your battery. I have very good battery life on the fast and clean Sebastian's 404 Froyo.
Guest Eszed Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 I've had no problem playing Angry Birds, running Paul's 2.2a4 release. Don't even notice any lag, ever. However, I do have a battery problem, in that something -- something! -- is preventing the phone from entirely sleeping. I've been poring over logs and piecemeal unistalls all day and can't seem to track it down. I'm about to reflash the ROM and reinstall bit by bit to see if I can track it down. Anyone have any other tips?

Cheers !
