Guest DaveGT Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Been checking this site out for a while; lots of people that know their stuff and have given great support for the Acer Liquid. I was wondering if a new forum, or sub-forum could be created for the newly released Acer Liquid Metal? It has been delayed and delayed but is now available at Expansys shops worldwide so should pick up steam pretty quick. I have just purchased one and it would really appreciate somewhere to chat about it and swap ideas. I have been in the symbian world since the N95....but that is basically dead...I feel Android is the future and look forward to learning how to fully utilise this new device. Especially as I am currently studying a UNIX course in University, I am interested in finding out how it ticks. Cheers, Dave
Guest B4rt Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 welcome to the Acer family.. Hope you gain the same satisfaction from your Liquid Metal as what i have gained from my Liquid. They are great devices, and i am sure someone here has already started work on it.
Guest Harness Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 (edited) Currently everything's included in here. I believe it's Vache has AmonRA recovery ported to it, with a 1.5ghz oc kernel. I do agree however the S120 deserves at least a subforum. Harness. Edited December 31, 2010 by Harness
Guest vache Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 I sended a MP to Paul some times ago to ask him, but i'm not sure it's the right way. I never had an answer.
Guest PhilNelwyn Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 "Other" forum : http://android.modaco.com/category/445/other/ Description : "Post topics related to other devices in here! If there is enough discussion, a dedicated area will be created." Let's post ! :(
Guest DaveGT Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 I have updated my last two smartphones - N95 and Samsung i8910 with new official/custom firmware loads of times, bringing huge benefits. I really like my i8910 (the hardware was the best on the market when it was released) but there was zero support so the custom rom makers stepped in....still the platform is dead imo. I like to be able to put whatever software I want on my phone with no restrictions....and will get busy reading about this 'rooting' business. First questions: what impact on battery performance has been felt by ocing the cpu? Also; how is it possible to check what 3G frequencies are supported on the device?....need to check that I have a version that can work here in the UK and the USA, which I did when I purchased....and phoned to confirm the frequencies but still not 100% confident. Lastly I agree with PhilNelwyn - lets make a bunch of noise so we can try and get our own forum or at least sub.
