Guest UbaRolfey Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 For those of you that didn't know, the new ADW launcher is on the market for around 2 quid, and let me tell you the money is well spent, I didn't think the day would come when this launcher would out smooth laucher pro, but this new one is amazing with 3d transitional effects, it looks fantastic on the blade as well, the gingerbread type launcher is better than the actual gingerbread launcher lol. the appdraw is also smoother than launcher pro. Check it out! http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/12/24/ad...-new-dimension/ Mike
Guest rapidone Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Check it out! http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/12/24/ad...-new-dimension/ Mike I can't. MySanFran doesn't t support Flash... :( Nobobdy needs a memory eating App Launcher...
Guest sonny crockett Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Tried it on Pauls Froyo Alpha 4 but it was laggy for some reason. Have gone back to standard ADW which is fine. Anyone else have issues?

Anyone else have issues? Really?? Mine is as smooth as silk, the old AWD really is laggy, and would never use that, I also find that the new gingerbread launcher is laggy as well, well it is compared to launcher pro, but this new adw ex version was only released on Christmas day I think, and for me it's great, every bit as smooth as Launcher pro, but smoother still with the appdraw, I was really impressed! Mike
Guest Dru383 Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Gave it a go and it's lovely and smooth here (running modaco 2.1 r4 without hw accel.). Think I'll use this as my default.

Im also running it, on pauls older r3 froyo rom it was laggy, but now on jellyfish rom its fine, really smooth infact.
Guest thisweb Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Looking forward to this one being released: SlickUI http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817443

Guest majnu Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Looking forward to this one being released: SlickUI http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817443 that looks the business :D
Guest Gryphonic Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 That SlickUI Looks impressive :D I was considering buying ADW Ex, but think i'll hold off for a bit.
Guest Xenon0816 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Wait till the Launcher Pro rewrite is done :D That's what I thought :P
Guest Blues003 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I like it, it's smoother than LP for now. Still, I miss LP's widgets. I liked the Bookmark, Twitter and Calendar widget LP provided. I have found no similar widgets on the market which I could install to compensate for ADW EX's lack on that field. Any ideas or suggestions?
Guest godsakes Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 it's only marginally faster than LP (and that's using basic no-frills settings), but i'll take what i can get has great themes for download
Guest UbaRolfey Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 You will find that if you're running the latest jellyfish, you will be able to run live wallpaper as well with only a small overhead, much much better than running it in LP, even the appdraw is reasonable. Mike
Guest Rotmann Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 My wife uses it because of the iphone-ish drawer and icons background (she sets the background of the drawer translucent, nice touch). The transitions are crazy good looking too. I stay on Launcher PRO Plus because of the widgets and the better scrollable dock.
Guest evilfury Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 How can i change the dock background in ADWex? There are only 4 options...
Guest Rem1x Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 How can i change the dock background in ADWex? There are only 4 options... Download a theme from the market :D Just type in ADW, you'll get loads.
Guest Nirva Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Hi, Im considering buying ADW EX. There is only one condition : Does the horizontal App Drawer let you organise your apps the way you want ? Or are they organised automatically (by organizing them alphabetically or by auto filling the pages). I really love the freedom you get with the Touchwiz App Drawer and with the iPhone.
Guest Rotmann Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) You can organize them into different catalogs. One drawer for games, one for multimedia and so on. Just press MENU in the drawer. Edited January 11, 2011 by Rotmann
Guest UbaRolfey Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 ADW EX has now been updated a few times since is was released, in fact a few times in the last 2 weeks at least, if you havn't tried it out yet, give it a go, it runs brutally fast on the latest jellyfish roms. I have been a fan of launcher pro for some time, but this is really really fast, and super smooth, I'll try to upload a vid of it running on jelly 6. Mike
