Cannot save service center number

hi, i'm a newbie to android phones but i'm sure this isn't me. if i go to

messages

settings

service center

enter service center number

press save

the save button changes colour when i press it but it stays on the same screen and doesn't save. if i back up then go back in, the field is blank.

what am i doing wrong?

i cannot send texts at the moment.

edit: its a uk orange sanfran with factory 2.1 rom. i haven't messed around with it yet.

T mobile by any chance? I had this issue and fixed it by requesting settings from t mobile website, were it says select handset, there was no san fran, but select h t c pulse and should work fine

virgin, which piggybacks off t-mobile. i'll try your suggestion and report back

no joy on virgins website, they just list the info rather than send it. i tried the t-mobile website anyway, but it wont send it to me as it doesnt like my virgin phone number. ill give virgin a call and see if they can send them

yeh mate , had a little google about , and no option to receive settings via a message , was gonna suggest you give them a bell , and hope you get somebody with a bit of nouse about them , let us know how ya get on bud
