Guest Gav86 Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Does anyone know if DSG have a stuck/dead pixel policy? The position of it might be a problem, I'm running paul's custom firmware with the small notification bar but I think it would be hidden by the stock bar. I can see it when the Vega is booting and I suppose I could say I can see it when watching video's. Will there be any evidence that I've been running custom firmware after I flash it back to stock to send it back?

I've got a dead pixel too (sits in the middle of the battery indicator when in landscape mode) so I called Currys and told them about it. They are out of stock for a couple of weeks but they will call me back when they have stock to arrange collection and a replacement. They didn't seem to be too bothered about it - I certainly wasn't asked any questions or told it wasn't in their policy. So give them a call - tell them it was a christmas present if you bought it a while back.
Guest simonta Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Only if they want to spend a ton of money on forensic analysis - and even then, a tiny chance that they might find evidence :( Run the Advent stock flash and no-one will ever know. Unless they read this forum, and can figure out who you are, ssshh, be vewy, vewy, qwuiet.
Guest Gav86 Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Ok cheers guys, I'll give them a ring and see what they say.
Guest Higgsy Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 There are a number of apps on the market that can free up stuck pixels, try pixel fixer and jscreenfix
Guest Gav86 Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Thanks for the tip Higgsy, Gave both of them a go but the pixel is black and very much dead I'm afraid. Called PC World its getting picked up on Wednesday, Hopefully I won't have to wait too long for a replacement.
Guest SWOriginal Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 (edited) Urgently bumping this thread!!! only bought my tablet a few weeks ago and I already have a stuck pixel (pure white pixel)... I have tried all the pixel fixers from the market and none have worked, tried turning the Vega off and on quite a few times aswell.. Will they accept it as a legitimate reason to take it to repair? I know there's a lack of stock in most stores at the moment so is it worth sending it to repair hopeing for a replacement (I know they won't fix it) ?. Edit: it seems it only affects dark backgrounds Edit:: it seems to have just reduced to 1 pixel ( used to be atleast 3 in a teardrop formation) any chance of tthis dissapearing on its own?
