K9 Folder Display

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I am very new to android and am looking at k9.

I have created an (IMAP) account that has many folders and subfolders on the server.

When I open K9 and go into the account it just shows the individual email contents of my Inbox folder and no sub folders.

If I then select 'Folder List' from the menu it shows Inbox with the message 'polling' under it.

Nothing happens.

Does anyone know how I can see all my folders by default and select the one I want to open?

I also have Profimail installed which I am used to from Nokia Symbian phones.

This has the desired folder display behaviour.

Only I want to switch as Profilmail seems buggy under Android and button presses do not always respond.

If need be I can continue with Profilemail if it does not work how i would like.

Many thanks.

After a *long* time the folder list displayed.

I then tried to get it to download all the messages in the folders.

After about 60MB of mail (about 25% through) it started giving errors underneath the folders (such as readstringuntil(): end of s....) and previously downloaded emails in the folder were no longer visible.

It also made my phone very unresponsive/sluggish

I have tested K9 on a much smaller IMAP account and it seems to work OK.

Going to give up on K9 (I have already removed it) and try going back to ProfilMail (which could handle this IMAP account with no issues on Symbian).

Thanks.

Profimail Mailbox already updated (in the time it took K9 to do just a few folders). I am using Wifi.

All working with no issues.

Well: Only issue is with the back button not working which is a redundant button really.

ProfiMail is, IMO, the No.1 client for IMAP mail
