Guest Turak64 Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Hi I'm trying to flash my SF but I keep getting this message. Sorry for being a newbie, but what does it mean and what am I doing wrong? Formatting BOOT:... E:Board does not support mtd utils.E:Failure at line 413: write_raw_image PACKAGE:boot.img BOOT: Installation Aborted I've tried two different ROMs and I get the same message on both. Thanks Simon P.S. I think this is a OLED verison as it's black, but i'm not 100% sure.

Hopefully this should help you
Guest jamidodger1 Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 You need to go to choose zip then choose zip not update
Guest Qwertzycoatl Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 You need to go to choose zip then choose zip not update For applying an entire rom update? easier to rename to update.zip as in 99% of the guides on here I would have thought
Guest Gerson2k Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 If flashing by CWM you don't need to rename - there is an option to select the zip file you wish to update with. OP are you 100% sure that the file you're using for update checks out with MD5? What about your SD card is that showing signs of corruption?
Guest fLaMePr0oF Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) Hi I'm trying to flash my SF but I keep getting this message. Thanks Simon P.S. I think this is a OLED verison as it's black, but i'm not 100% sure. This happened for me (when using ClockworkMod 2.5.1.3 and selecting the .zip) when trying to flash 'Hungarian Hedgehog' or 'Custom BladeVillain', but I've had no problems with others I've tried, including Froyo Roms (Currently using Japanese Jellyfish and just about to flash new rls, very happy with it). I suspected it might have been an issue with my ClockworkMod Recovery version but haven't tried again since updating to newer version... Try updating CMR to version 2.5.1.8 or trying a different Rom fLaMePr0oF P.S. You can confirm what screen type you have by dialing *983*24474636# in the dialer. (refer to “Glass” )... Guest Turak64 Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 Thanks for the help guys, I managed to get it back by using this stock rom - OUK_P729BV1.0.0B08 (http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blade-blade-modaco-com/318417/oled-tft-06-dec-stock-rom-downloads-online-kitchen/) I was able to search my SD card for the ZIP but it never seemed to work. I think I might be on TFT then... is there a 2.2 version for TFT?
Guest Turak64 Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 P.S. when I try the above, I get "connection problem or invaild MMI code"
Guest Arr Too Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 P.S. when I try the above, I get "connection problem or invaild MMI code" Using the stock dialler? If the code is correct and recognised then it will activate as soon as you press the final "#" -- you shouldn't get to the point of being able to press Dial (and you shouldn't press Dial!).
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 P.S. when I try the above, I get "connection problem or invaild MMI code" need chipertest.apk in /system/app/
Guest Turak64 Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 I am using the stock dialer but it doesn't seem to work. I don't think I have that other file (chipertest.apk ) in my system\app folder (can't even find a folder called app in system?)
