Anyone recommend a Terminal App?

Hi all,

I wanted to use a terminal (command shell) on the actual tablet, just 'cos I'm an inveterate Linux tinkerer at heart. But I tried "Terminal Emulator" from the market, and I can't seem to get any way to interact with it (no keyboard comes up).

Can anyone recommend a terminal that actually works on the Vega?

Cheers.

Hold the back button down to bring up the menu on Terminal Emulator. You can then toggle the keyboard. Better Terminal Emulator (a paid for app) has extra shell versions but if you enable them the app gives a segmentation fault. The author of Better Terminal Emulator is working on the bugs caused by the tegra 2 hardware. When he gets it working it is worth paying for.

I just tried connectbot, and it works fine. However, in its "help" section on soft keyboards it says only use it in portrait. So I then tried Terminal Emulator in portrait and it works with the soft keyboard.

Doh... why didn't I think of that before?

Thanks everyone for the help, I got there in the end.

I am using the GB keyboard and the terminal emulator works fine for me. Button saviour works well for bringing up the menu to toggle keyboard input etc

Looks like our posts just crossed. Happy new year. Glad you sorted it.
