If my GT540 is version v10B, do I have to use v10B to upgrade to 2.1?

I've tried it twice already and my phone still says its firmware 2.1.

I didn't want to try a v10a or something like that in case it bricks my phone.

Anyone know?

The firmware name of 2.1 ROMs is V20. If you want to upgrade to a 2.1 ROM, you can use any of the ROMs. You can try V20D Baltic ROM or V20B European Open - both of them are new.
