I've got my SF several days ago...everything was fine...

HOWEVER, after i installed Need For Speed and played yesterday, i found that the g-sensor of my phone isn't working properly.

The sensor ALWAYS detect my phone tilting to the left when it was on the horizontal plane! (as a result my car always crashes!!)

I tried to see whether it can be calibrated in the setup menu but nothing helps!

I used many apps such as bubble to calibrate it but it can only be calibrated inside that apps but not the whole system so nothing helps also.

Does anyone have similar problem as mine??

How can it be solved??

many thanks!!! B)

1, Do Not start a thread with so specific title.

2, This is not a great great problem.

Anyways try Labyrinth Lite to check if the sensor is good. It has calibration too.

It's faulty, you should have it replaced by Orange...

I've had two handsets in the last week and two different faults; the first had the (fairly common) poor wifi reception fault, wifi signal on the second one is excellent but the SD card keeps disconnecting when writing to the card, (I'm just waiting for the Orange Store I bought it in to get more stock so it can be replaced again).

Build quality on these is crap but for £99 and built by a company like ZTE is (sadly) to be expected. I'm quite prepared to keep returning until I get a good one, just be sure to thoroughly test your handset!

If my next one is sub-standard in any way I think I'll skip the new for new replacement and request a warranty replacement through Customer Services, referbs are often of a higher standard than original stock as they go through more stringent testing and there's always the chance of getting an OLED model that way

For a new replacement for a recently bought handset: (Your consumer right if a fault occurs within 6 months of purchase)...

Return it to the Store or Call 0800 0790103 for handsets bought through telephone / internet channels

For warranty replacement via Customer Service for online or Store purchases (factory referb; currently the best chance of getting an OLED model!)...

Call 0800 801080 then dial 1, 4, 2, 3, [enter orange phone No.], 2, 4

I don't know if they will accept as faulty, if the only software that misbehaves is nfs, but it might worth a try.

Bud don't forget to reflash original rom before trying to do this.

Good point, otherwise they'll just cry invalid warranty, (which is complete bollocks by the way but you'd likely have to escalate to the county courts at which point they'd back down and settle your claim rather than have their dirty little tricks to keep you tied in and 'monetised' aired in court).

Regarding the fault, I once returned a Sony Ericsson C902 to Orange because the accelerometer didn't register as level...

They pointed out that it could be easily calibrated in the app I was using to demonstrate the fault, (similar to bubble), but I argued that any 'tilt control' games were unplayable on the handset as it was so far out and they never include calibration.

Well, I guess, they cannot warrant that all beta/custom/etc. ROMs behave correctly. Plus, it is not impossible to write software that hurts the device. So however, it is not a happy thing that varranty is void if you modify the ROM, I cannot see any better solution from the vendor's point of view.

Of course, if the glue that fixes LCD releases, it is not fair to say that your device is rooted.

Did anybody find a way to calibrate the g-sensor? Does flashing another ROM help?

EDIT: just realised that thats not smartest thing to do because ive got an OLED model and by replacing it ill probably get a TFT model. oh well.....

sorry OT: my sf is working fine but i dropped it and its got quite bad cosmetic damage. obviously that is not a fault but what if i just wiped data from clockwork so if wont boot, do you think theyll replace it? B)

I'm having the same problem, though not as bad as the sensor is only wrong by a few degrees, but still annoying in racing games...

It would be nice if someone knew a way to calibrate the sensor system wide, because I don't wont to return my phone for such a minor issue.

Mine got similar problem, instead of in games, the system rotation is now dead and all calibration software returns negative values, ie, the sensor is giving out no readings

On JJ RLS7 ROM
