Guest eldhawke Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) Hi to all on Modaco im new here, got a pulse 2 days ago B) i managed to get the 2.1 installed no problem, then i realized i wasnt root, secondly, i ignored a problem when i was installing custom roms, something about cant mount E: and the cache and it couldnt make a nand backup, which is pointless now anyway. ( i think i didnt wait long enough after the update before i took out the battery, so my own stupidity) either way, i reverted back to 1.5, which worked at first, i then put the december update and now im having a huge problem. if i turn on the phone normally i get the white screen with black lines power+end call+vol up : not working power+end call+vol down : not working power+end call+menu : not working normal : white screen black lines charging : white screen black lines or black screen with backlight on is there some way i can "unbrick" it, like a custom command or something, geez, im even willing to use linux and custom hack it if i have to in some way. i COULD just get it replaced through warranty, but im worried they might sense i tried to do something to the phone, then im F'ed... (i dont think it would matter cuz it bricked with the december update, which is how i got the phone) i have checked around for anything like a USB hard reset or low level reset, but obviously nothing like that seems to be around yet. (found a app called huawei tool, but i still need to be able to read USB) so, any ideas anyone? much thanks  Edited January 1, 2011 by eldhawke
Guest jeddy1 Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 Well I guess you must give it back and get another one!
Guest eldhawke Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 yeah, i guess thats the only option for now. i have neatly packed it all back and will see if the shop is open tomorrow. thanks
Guest skandigraun Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 I do not know if only my pulse does that, but getting into fastboot is a bit tricky: you need to hold red+volume down button when the phone is turned off, then to tap the power on button. The problem that i only figured out after about a week (of course it can be my own ignorance also ) is that you should only tap the power on button once very shortly, as shortly as you can, and you should not keep pressing it. Then after a second or two you should get the blue screen of fast boot. Sorry if it obvious for everybody and it did not help, but i was not sure about it B)

Try few times more taking the battery off and sim card. Put back battery then try for fastboot.push well the buttons and third power button not first;). But again I think it will not work.but just try it. U have nothing to lose.

I installed the december update, guessing that is the U8220V100R001GBRC85B118SP01 with_Userdata file. Update completed, 'Restarting...' on screen, i waited 30min, no response. So i just unplugged the USB (yeah, i updated with battery removed, usb cable attached), and blank screen after that. Searched the forums, google for answers, no luck. Every post with this problem ends the same - device bricked. So.. yeah, waste of money. Atleast now we have a useless touch screen, might as well make a video of playing baseball with it
