Guest trevor432990 Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 I am using up the meager 347mb of internal memory within the Vega very quickly and it's over 50% full already. I wonder if any of our more experienced members can suggest how we can keep our devices use of memory to a minimum please? I have gone into SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS > MANAGE APPLICATIONS and gone through each entry selecting MOVE TO SD CARD wherever possible to free off space but I've now run out of ideas so any tips on the subject gratefully received.

There is an adb script to run which allows you to move more Apps to sd, as follows abd shell pm setInstallLocation 2 It is case sensitive so watch for that. Not sure if it will do much since many more Alps are allowing move to sd anyway now. But might help. One thing I did was move some of the Widgets I dont useoften to sd, easy enough to move them back when I want. I use launcher pro, and it really needs Widgets on the Device. Dayz
Guest Graham Macleod Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 When you go to the "manage applications" option from settings you can press menu again to find an option to sort by size. This is helpful to find the apps that eat up space (looking at you Google Earth). For the fat ones you need to figure out if they are worth it. If you have Titanium backup (and if not then run, don't walk, to the market) then you can basically keep these on the SD card as backups and only install them when you need to. I see no reason why the "full" old-style apps to SD shouldn't work. Look on XDA for Darktremor apps2sd. You'll need to partition your card though. Hope this helps
