Official 2.2 coming to Blade in Finland in April

Saunalahti (Finnish operator) has told us they will provide official 2.2 update to Blade in April 2011.

If this is true, it's great news, even though it's quite a few months away... Hopefully we'll have a custom froyo rom that is stable enough before that.

Yes, "early 2011", that is old piece of information from November/December 2010.

April 2011 release date is very new information.

I work at Elisa/Saunalahti technical customer service and I can confirm that we do not have any knowledge of any forthcoming 2.2 update for the Blade.

IMO most of the custom ROMs are stable enough anyway...

I'm running JapJelly 9 and have no problems. So I cant really see a reason for an official anymore.

It would be nice though to have an official one so everyone can upgrade and have something running which we know works.

Nope. Different people within Orange have said "no news on 2.2" more than once.

I am sorry I can't really comment in detail, but in general (although obviously not always), when it comes to mobile devices, we do not really get much information regarding forthcoming updates to device firmwares ahead of time.

Actually that's no guarantee at all. That Wiki can be modified by anyone, that page has been last updated by someone that's not a Saunalahti employee...
