Guest serialkillazzs Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 hi everyone, i have a htc desire but i was thinking of moving to san francisco if it can stream flash on skyfire browser. adobe i think limits flash on arm6 600mhz core therefore has the custom roms enabled full flash in browser or is san francisco processor limited to adobe lite
Guest rayraven Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 ^You can view flash videos on the blade using skyfire. But not flash stuff, any interactive flash menus etc still wont work.

Guest Stuart_f Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I would normally tell someone to use search because we've covered this topic about once a week since the phone came out but when I searched for "flash" I got every single ROM thread so it's quite hard to find the answer to this one! The short answer is no, not unless Adobe rewrite their implementation of Flash. The ZTE blade uses an Arm 6 CPU, Flash needs a minimum of Arm 7. It is extremely unlikely they will make the changes we need as our is an older CPU and it's not worth the development time to do it. Older thread is here for reference: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-the-zte-blade/

Get creative man  search for "Adobe" and you'll find 7+ Threads on the first page alone.
Guest dadashi Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 I have FlashLite installed on my 2.1 Eclair SF and I ccan open any flash website...Including youtube, could play youtube films direct from my browser.... Unfortunately nobody has found a flash player solution for 2.2 froyo SF... it's like giving an arm for a leg I know ARM6 processor isn't supported by adobe. Some say it's too weak but that's rubbish because it works in Eclair with Flashlite. And there are many independant video apps that play flash and of course the youtube app plays flash so saying the cpu is too weak is bullocks... Is there any way around this Froyo / Flash problem...?
Guest Stryke69 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Try Skyfire browser. It plays most of the flash videos at least
Guest popoyaya Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 why not install FlashLite on froyo?
Guest dadashi Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) Try Skyfire browser. It plays most of the flash videos at least Doesn't play any flash, just installed it in FLB-R6 Froyo....nothing, absolutely no flash... popoyaya Posted Today, 18:40 ...why not install FlashLite on froyo? see my post above, it doesn't work in froyo.... Guest fonix232 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Try to grab FlashLite from another Froyo-based ARMv6 phone, it may work! BTW I have a feeling why it does not work, I guess the library compatibility is broken somehow, and such, we can't fix it. The ARMv6 ISN'T WEAK, it just simply haven't got the needed instruction set (it is like, telling a 2 years old to write down a foreign poem from memory. He/she simply can't do it). That's why we can't ever get proper Flash support, it isn't because Adobe don't want to do... It is because they can't make work something what can't work :D
Guest nvidiax Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Can you post the 2.1 FlashLite that you are using?
Guest MrHicks Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 The ARMv6 ISN'T WEAK, it just simply haven't got the needed instruction set That missing instruction set being the SIMD stuff in ARMv7, which makes the ARMv6 look pretty weak in comparison.
Guest dadashi Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) Can you post the 2.1 FlashLite that you are using? you can find it in the market...also there are a couple of Flashlite threads with instructions here in the forum... Edited January 8, 2011 by dadashi
Guest Azurren Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Doesn't play any flash, just installed it in FLB-R6 Froyo....nothing, absolutely no flash... Skyfire tries to detect and grab the video.. If successful it converts it into HTML5 remotely and streams it to your device.. It's getting better and is waaaaaaaaay better than it used to be but doesn't work 100% of the time :D
Guest Rotmann Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 I find Skyfire to be rubbish, 90% won't play (not detected or media error 1:1). It's also rubbish in data privacy, read the EULA, almost Spyware FFS :D That was a good ideea to try FlashLite from a 2.2 ARM6 device (like Legend). Don't know if it works on the Legend by the way or if it can be made.

Guest dadashi Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Works on legend but needs the sense library's so can't port over easily to blade Sky fire is no help, it doesn't open flash sites without a flash plugin.... I'm looking for a similar FlashLite solution to activate flash in the browser... My SF using modaco 2.1 with Flashlite has no problem with Flash, opens every flash-website and can even play flash directly from the youtube website... Android has very very poor browser plug in support, even good old symbion took plug-ins seriously enough to release regular updates.... to think symbion supported flash, rma, mov and other plugins years ago and android developers don't give a monkey's....android doesn't even support half the written languages .... Guest keloid Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Can anyone confirm whether this issue has been resolved?
Guest wbaw Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Can anyone confirm whether this issue has been resolved? As far as I know it hasn't. I tried copying flash lite (and any .so files that looked related) from a htc wildfire froyo rom, it didn't work so I gave up. Which other arm 6 phones that have froyo have flash lite? Is it only the htc ones? Anyone know why the wildfire version didn't work & if it could be fixed?
