Screen freeze

Hello,

I have a ZTE San Francisco and am currently running Kallt Kaffee ROM Finnish Eclair RLS 2 without any problems.

I gave my brother one for Christmas and installed Kallt Kaffee ROM Finnish Eclair RLS 4 and the screen kept freezing this weekend. You can switch the phone on and after some time when you want to use it u can't slide it anymore and the touchscreen won't react ;(

So I took it home and installed Kallt Kaffee 2.2 Jap Jellyfish, just booted and having the same problem :unsure:

Is the phone broken and I have to send it back?

It is a TFT version from OK.- in Switzerland.

edit: sorry for not googling before, as it seems I'm not the only one with this problem. Hope I'll find a fix aswell hehe

There's a video in one of the other threads about twisting or squeezing the phone in various places while it is in standby which seems to cause and/or fix this issue on at least one person's Blade. Could be a hardware issue? Tighten the screws you can see inside the case?

Got the same problem when u recive call then finish it and screen freeze.. Also im Unable to port contacts from my sim. Any fix fo that?

It is RLS2 problem not Hardware. Sebs rom work fine also all other roms..

strangely, i've had a freeze a couple of times on an old 2.1 firmware. the 'squeeze' trick worked.

i wonder what the root cause is...

Mine died 2 days ago, first the screen was a bit funny and jerky then it just froze up. Moving the back of the phone would fix it for a short time then it would freeze again. I did a hard reset but it still locked up. It was a Xmas present so Argos exchanged it without any problem.

I had not done anything to it other than a root to remove the orange crap - no rom change at all. I guess a few are faulty, i had a simular issue years ago on a HTC Touch.

This won't help, I even put away the battery cover and it freezes from the beginning :unsure:

I think I'M going to call the support and then try to exchange that one aswell

Edit: installed finnish RLS2 from kallt kaffe and works now. hope it keeps working
