Guest stephaned Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 I have 2 Advent Vega and updated both to the MoDaCo ROM after a few hours... so did not get the chance to test that with the original ROM... The issue I am having with both devices (and the 2 chargers) it seems that after the screen goes black the devices stop charging... It charges well when off or when the screen is on (in use) but when it goes on stand-by, the charging seems to stop. Is that normal? anybody else experiencing that issue? Tks Stephane

Tks Stephane It doesn't stop though. It's the battery refresh that takes a little while. Does the light blink even on standby while charging?

Tks Stephane If you use a task manager to clear all tasks the battery reading should refresh shortly after. It's a known issue.

Guest Prosody Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 I get this problem too, charging occurs for a while whilst on standby but then the LED goes blank. Only way I get a reliable charge is to turn off unit altogether. :/

Odd things though is that it is the same for both tablets (not like if it was an insulated incident) so I am surprised that no more people have noticed this issue. After teh screen goes blank / you put the unit in stand by, it seems (the blue light is flashing) to recharge for a little while (i need to measure for how long) and then stops charging. Anybody else experience this issue?

Anybody else experience this issue? I think mine is fine when charging on standby. We were watching bbc iplayer on it and fell asleep whilst it was on - woke up this morning to find that it had charged and was in standby so assume I don't have this problem. I realise this doesn't help the issue you have but may point out that perhaps your unit is faulty? There do seem to be a few glitches amongst most of the vegas - various problems that seem to be limited to small numbers.
Guest .logan Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Yes the same, on R6 with perf pack. I am going to get a charger with a higher current rating and see what happens.
