Guest DarkCounter Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Hi, I'm using Paul's Froyo ROM (r4 - haven't updated to r5 yet). As most of us will know, the ZTE Blade is in sleep mode when not in use and can only be switched on using the power button on top of the device. I am experiencing a different behavior since a few days: I can activate the screen with the menu button. This tells me that some kind of process is preventing the device from going to sleep. But I can't figure out which one. The only thing I noticed is that the battery drains much faster (which is obvious when sleep is prevented). Yesterday I had a loss of about 30 percent within 2 or 3 hours with nearly zero usage. So first thing to check: Menu - Settings - Device Information - Battery information (dunno if the titles are correct as I prefer german language on my phone  but I guess you know what is meant). Android System has an overall usage of 94%. The following packages are listed (sorry again for german translation): Sdlog, Networkposition, HTC Checkin (wtf? it's supposed to be a ZTE?), Account & Syncro-settings, Android system, Taskmanager, VPN-services, Settings. Is there any app which can tell me, which process prevents sleep mode? I dind't install noLED or something else which modifies the original behaviour (at least I can't remember). Of course there are several apps installed which update regularly (The following come to my mind: Tweetdeck, Whatsapp, all the Googlestuff that syncs, Rain-Alarm (great tool btw)). But even using a taskmanager and ending all running processes doesn't help. I'm at my wits end. Any help is appreciated - don't want to use the charger everey 6 hours from now on B) Before I forget: Happy new year, Cheers and keep up the great community!
Guest Rusty! Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Dial *#*#4636#*#* Goto battery history... if the phone is not sleeping there will be a very high running %age. Change 'Other usage' to 'Partial wake usage' and see what's causing it.
Guest DarkCounter Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 The code you mentioned did not work for me, but I guess it's Spare Parts which is supposed to open . I've checked the partial wake usage and - bingo. It's "NewsRob" my Googlereader-App. I'll try uninstall it (and use the native GReader-App which is new to the market). Thanks a lot - although I am wondering why this idea hasn't come to my mind earlier...
