Headphone issue on GT540

Hey all, got a fairly frustrating issue with my GT540 at the moment and was wondering if anyone could help; whenever I've got my headphones plugged into the phone and then take them out, the phone fails to register that they've been removed. This means it doesn't make any noise when I get a message or a call and it's impossible to make or receive calls unless the headphones are plugged in.

I was just wondering whether anyone else had experienced this and whether it's an Android problem or phone-specific? Haven't modded it at all - it's could go back to the shop today the same as it was when I bought it.

If you restart the phone, everything goes back to normal till you plug in the headphones? If so, I had a similar issue with my old LG Viewty KU990i.

Sounds like the headphone port is working a bit dodgy. I'd say its likely a hardware related issue... Once your within your warranty you can always send it back and have it fixed.

Hi Max I had the self same issue with mine it is the headphone socket all I did was plug in and unplug the headphones a few times in a row quickly and problem resolved. Its one of the connections inside the socket that doesnt spring back out properly.
