Guest Spies Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 (edited) Just wondering what is causing this, maps *is* installed on my phone but it is not currently running. So theoretically it shouldn't be draining any battery. According to Battery History, my phone has spent over 50% of the last day and a half in a 'running' state which I believe is due to this wakelock. Any ideas besides un-installing maps? I do want to keep them if possible. Edited January 4, 2011 by Spies
Guest Spies Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 I've solved this myself by turning off use wireless networks in location and security settings. Battery use overnight is just 2% now as the phone is sleeping properly.

Battery use overnight is just 2% now as the phone is sleeping properly. It also helps to disable GPS and only enable it when you need it and also sign out of Google Latitude if you use it. Many people are reporting issues with the latest Maps so hopefully Google will fix them. On previous versions I could leave wireless networks locating on and latitude and it didn't kill my battery.
Guest Spies Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 GPS is always turned off unless I require it.
