I've had no problems installing a custom ROM onto my SF, but wanted to play a bit further with taking the stock Orange 2.1 ROM and modifying included apps, homescreen etc etc. cheers mike

Apps are installed in /system/app so you can remove some, and add your own replacements. You should note that /system is read-only though so some apps won't work correctly installed here. You can also play with some of the default settings in /system/build.prop

You could have just as eaily bashed this into google, and then asked on the forum if you encounter any problems.
