Recent buyer - poor call/sms signal - unlocked to o2

Hi Whizzkids, getting to the point where I think this is unusable! I've been playing about with it with apps etc i've found on here and unbranded but really since day I've seen the reception bar(not wi-fi/3g I mean although that isn't great either) got from full to empty and the phone hasnt moved from the same spot. Sometimes texts don't go till I switch the phone off and on too. Is it just me then??? Is it 02 maybe? I've never seen o2 reception this bad on other phones.

Is there anything I can test? I really don't want to have to get a new phone! Had it since 31st. Sometimes when Wi-fi or 3g on the reception seems better?!

i am on o2 also , and all is fine with my new SF ,

from new i placed the o2 sim straight in the sf , then got the unlock code and entered it , it stared up fine, then i used bladevillan rom ,

I didnt have to put any o2 settings or nothing , even hotmail auto configured !!!

All seems to be working fine after 3 days now !!

I think the phone in general has poor reception. In my old lg renoir almost always had full or nearly full strength signal. Now on the SF I mainly have one bar reception. My calls and text messages do work fine so it hasnt really affected me.

P.S. i am also on 02

Have you tried putting other SIM cards in the phone to see if the problem happens with other networks or just O2?

I had a problem initially of almost never getting signal. Tried Orange, Three and GiffGaff (Uses O2 signal) and all were poor - turns out it was a fault with the phone.

Do what I did - take it back to the shop, tell them of your problems and ask to try your sim in another phone side by side to check if it's a fault. If it is ask to hand yours back and take the replacement.

I think the phone and o2 just rubbish together in my town. I am however back at work and in a city and it still doesn't seem great.

I bought the phone from Argos so will have a fight on my hand as can only return if prove faulty within 30 days and no way to test there don't think! :unsure:

Just noticed that when I have no signal that Go SMS never lets me doing sending but the stock app does?!??!?!?!?!?

I get really poor signal on Tesco (so ultimately O2) whereas on Vodafone it's absolutely fine. It never interferes with my calls or sending messages though, even when I've apparently got 0 bars, so I've assumed it's just the way signal is reported. I haven't done a speed test but my 3G traffic seems to be fine and more than adequate for browsing, even when I've got 0 bars.

I'm on o2 payg, does anyone find during lunch time generally after 12.30 the internet access is bloody slow and sometime just sits there?

I don't have 3g where I'm at so use 2g which isnt a mega problem as i use Opera.
