Guest ZforZelda Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 kernel won't work unmodified, we should wait for the source release

Guest Jekle Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 You need to install The Drivers first there is a pinned topic on the forum Topics Page. I don't know how to Dump a rom either. But I know you need, the drivers to use adb.
Guest Rotmann Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 kernel won't work unmodified, we should wait for the source release Are you 100% sure? Where do you know this from?
Guest ZforZelda Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Are you 100% sure? Where do you know this from? I guess we can learn that from the Japanese Blade
Guest Rotmann Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Just dump the ROM and we will be 100% sure. As I understood there are some differences between japanese and chinese blades, we still have a little chance of kernel compatibility.
Guest Krinyo Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 We need a dump, every other thing is just speculation.

Guest Stuart_f Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I've managed to register on their forum but I have to wait an hour before I can post
Guest Cyburner Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I've managed to register on their forum but I have to wait an hour before I can post  Gonna wait til an English language version is available.
Guest Stuart_f Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Gonna wait til an English language version is available. You want an English language version of a Chinese forum? Are you planning an invasion or something?
Guest Simon O Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Same version as the recent Chinese dump.. P729CUB01
Guest Stuart_f Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Same version as the recent Chinese dump.. P729CUB01 So I don't need to try out my best Chinese and ask for a dump of this?
Guest Sebastian404 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Same version as the recent Chinese dump.. P729CUB01 Keep in mind that's the display.id... the internal build.id NEVER seems to match up with that.
Guest Sebastian404 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 So I don't need to try out my best Chinese and ask for a dump of this? Yes we need a dump of a retail device
Guest rjm2k Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 So I don't need to try out my best Chinese and ask for a dump of this? yes, also /proc/config.gz if possible
Guest Stuart_f Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 yes, also /proc/config.gz if possible Given the language barrier is the simplest way to get this Root Explorer?
Guest Sebastian404 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 yes, also /proc/config.gz if possible if they use ROMDUMP it will include that.... part of the reason I wrote it.. saves having to talk people through the complexities
Guest jt_mcg Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) if they use ROMDUMP it will include that.... part of the reason I wrote it.. saves having to talk people through the complexities Handy piece of kit and simple to use. Now you just need to provide localisation/translation for our Chinese and Japanese Friends  Glad you're on our side! Edited January 6, 2011 by jt_mcg
Guest Stuart_f Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I'm obviously posting complete garbage - probably asking them for new cupboard doors or something. Anyway, a bilingual user has taken pity on me and offered to translate our request to Chinese so hopefully he will be able to read and explain the romdump process.
Guest Sebastian404 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Handy piece of kit and simple to use. Now you just need to provide localisation/translation for our Chinese and Japanese Friends  Glad you're on our side! Im working on another project that could be of use to most of us.. I'm going to be asking for translators are part of that.. I used to have a Colombian friend, so I know how to swear in Spanish (with lots of Colombian slang thrown in)... only really any use if you want to be killed in a drug deal...
