I have Finnish 5mb camera version of ZTE Blade (Saunalahti).

When I press volume up the phone trigger volume down AND BACK functionality. For example when I am listening music and want to increase volume the player is closed. I tried to fix the problem by setting factory defaults with clockwork recovery and even flashed to 2.2 Froyo. Didn't help so it must be hardware problem? Is there anyway to fix this with some software key mapping application?

It sounds like a software issue to me.

are you using the stock rom or custom rom?

have you tried to flash it back to the stock rom ?

he has 5 mp version (best version of san fransisco) and all the custom roms are made out of 3 mp version. I have been looking for answer to this problem too and somebody told me to install 5mp addon yadda yadda but how to do that ?

I have now Finnish Fillyjonk ROM RLS5 installed with original kernel addon. Same problem. I think it must be hardware problem. I think it could be fixed with software though. If I could somehow remap the buttons?

It sure sounds like a hardware problem to me.

Software is not going to be able to help if the phone software cannot distinguish between buttons.

Put the standard software back on (don't forget to wipe the sdcard!) and return/exchange the phone.

I'm seeing the same problem with my stock Orange 2.1 B08. Is it definitely a hardware problem? Can someone confirm volume up works as expected in the stock Orange firmware?

its not a hardware problem! when you restore your system or install the stock rom everything will be fine. custom roms make it lose the functionality.

I guess its hardware problem. Same thing with stock saunalahti zte blade ROM and Japanese Jellyfish RL4 ROM. I have to return this thing

Unless the problem is hardware damage that you yourself have caused, I don't understand why you haven't returned it.

The problem is unlikely to 'heal' itself. Indeed, at any time,it could get worse - which might compromise your ability to reinstall stock firmware. I'd advise not delaying its return.

Just wanted to confirm that it is definitely a hardware problem. I was having the same problem and got my phone exchanged. The new phone does not have this issue.
