Guest Restless_UK Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I got my Vega last night and have sucessfully installed the r6 + perf pack, at least as far as i'm aware. I have just connected it to the wifi and found that i can search through and select apps to download in the market but it will just sit on "Starting Download". This used to me an issue on my Desire so i have tried to stop the application, clear the cache and restarted which was a fix i have used before, but it's not working on this. can anyone suggest anything else i can try? I can surf the internet and have tried good maps wihout issue so far. Thanks for any help...
Guest Wombatter Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 This is/was? a known problem, try re-installing flash again from the /system/etc/shuttle_priv/libflashplayer_froyo_gles2_20101206_v10.1.120.1_signed.apk and then reboot, that solved it for me

I'll keep trying this for the moment and will re-install 1.06 and r6 later if i get time/no other solution
Guest BabyBearBaloo Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I was having issues last night with the Market just hanging on start download, it seemed to fix itself by about 10pm (UK Time) have you tried it since?

Guest BabyBearBaloo Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) I know this might sound odd, do you have google talk? if so boot up that app and login (it uses the same login details you use for the Market) EDIT: or try another google app that requires you to sign in/out with the same google details as the Market. I dont know if there is a way to log in/out on the Market place

I dont know if there is a way to log in/out on the Market place it was automatically logging in so i tried to log out of the applications... but i'm not sure how to as i can't see any "log out" options.. i have since reset it back to factory defaults then logged in to google mail first then market and get the same issue, tried to re-install flash and reboot but that's made no difference either. Talk still refuses to connect too.. is there anything that i am doing wrong here?? or anything worth trying...

I'm not sure as I do not have my Vega to hand, if you either long press the hard back button, or press the options/menu button on the notification bar (next to the soft back button) this should bring up additional options/menu at the bottom of the screen, it may be on the first line or it might be under the "More" option. If this doesn't help I will have a look when I get my hands on my Vega tonight.
Guest trevor432990 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) Have you read this page yet? Seems that being able to connect to 'Talk' is essential for access to Market Edited January 6, 2011 by trevor432990
Guest Restless_UK Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Have you read this page yet? Seems that being able to connect to 'Talk' is essential for access to Market This just gets a little weirder, i have a htc desire with standard O2 2.2 software that wont connect to Talk but will download from the market (though sat for 20 seconds first for the first item added, the rest updated/downloaded fine)... i wonder if it has something to do with the Wifi i'm on as i'm sat at work.... or maybe i need to register my vega as another device with market enabler first??

If you can download with your Desire using your wifi and Market im guessing its not your wifi... have you tried disabling the wifi on your Vega and then turning it back on...

Hi, when you have said you have cleared the cache, have you cleared the cache for both Market AND Market Updater under the "All" tab in applications?
Guest Restless_UK Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 If you can download with your Desire using your wifi and Market im guessing its not your wifi... have you tried disabling the wifi on your Vega and then turning it back on... The Vega has been on all day, it keeps going in and out of connection when it goes into standby. Hi, when you have said you have cleared the cache, have you cleared the cache for both Market AND Market Updater under the "All" tab in applications? i only clear the market cache as the market updater doesn't have any cache to clear when i go to do so... i have rebuilt it today with 1.06 and r6 + perf, which made no difference but, assuming my internet is working at home, i'll re download them again just in case and re-do again later incase it's something to do with that...
Guest BabyBearBaloo Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 The Vega has been on all day, it keeps going in and out of connection when it goes into standby. Unfortunately it will stop the wifi when goes into standby.. there is. A thread dedicated to a work around (although that's of no use to you atm) I'm unsure what to suggest next, although this problem is linked to not being able to connect to Google talk. Have you tried clearing the cache for that?
Guest crockwit Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Have you tried setting up another Google mail account and then using it to to log into the market ? There may be some problem with your current Google account.
Guest Restless_UK Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 This gets weirder and weirder, i just got home and tested here and everything works fine... downloaded a few different apps to test and they all work fine... Talk works straight away too.... it does seem to be something to do with the wifi at work, as all i did when i got in was connect to the home wifi, clear market cache then open the market... things were downloading that i had selected earlier too... Talk worked without even seeing the login screen.. anyways thanks for the help guys / gals... i'm off to see what this can do...
