Hi all,

Love the phone, have the modaco 2.2 build on at the mo with apps2sd.

2 tech noob mates have bought them after seeing mine.

the only issue i really have is that i keep running low on internal storage space...i dont think i have an unreasonable amount of apps...

email 10mb

maps 9mb

facebook 6

google reader 6

voice search, tunewiki, swype, skype, camera360 and gmail at 4mb each

gallery, dolphin, ebay, kindle, soundcloud, catch, reddit is fun and goggles are the next biggest space takers

i dont really feel i have any "luxury" apps that i could get rid of and not miss.

DiskUsage says i have 208mb for Data

139 of that is applications

51 is system data

giving me 17mb of free - (but that still brings up the "low on space" message)

is this just the way it is for everyone? am i being greedy!?!?

still...sweet phone.

If you install a Froyo rom then you could move almost any app to your SD card

That would solve your space issues

But yeah, you do have quite a few beefy apps installed there B)

He's already said he's got a Froyo ROM, but I have a similar issue because there are many apps which can't be moved to the SD card. Only other way around it, is to bake an alpha5 Froyo ROM which supports A2SD, which basically involves creating a partition on your SD card, and then linking your applications directory to the SD card, so all applications are installed on the SD card.

If you get Titanium backup from the market it has the ability to move apps to the SD that froyo claims cannot be moved .. be cautious though, don't move any widgets to SD as they likely won't work, do one app at a time and test it!

All the best.

thanks all.

didnt know titanium could move other apps - will look into that....with care :-)

so A2SD is different from apps2sd in that its transparent - the system treats that partition almost as internal memory with regards to apps?

access to SD must be slower than internal ram access right?

It certainly seems that now most apps do come with apps2sd support but a lot of those apps only move a portion of themselves to the SD card - i guess leaving more important system files on the internal.

i think im maybe just too much of an apps addict. so much stuff comes out that i dont *need* but is SO FRICKING COOL.

Ditto - I need to look into that

Exactly - though I have a class 2 microSD and it works just fine

this is one of the reasons i created my ROM to repartition the data to give almost 300mb of space on data. i suggest you look at repartitioning, or install a ROM which moves some of your apps to the system partition.

thanks guys. will look into all these things.

in this day and age of almost infinite storage for cameras, pcs, servers, music, video, etc, etc it seems weird to be contained like this!
