I'd volunteer B) I'd warn myself first for always double posting.

I agree totally

I log in several times every day and it's getting depressing the number of posts that are duplicated with people asking the same thing time after time and posting the same new threads all the time

It's because there are a lot of new users and the information they want isn't easily available to them.

I was "new" a couple of weeks ago (despite my member id of 20, boast boast, I didn't post much when I worked for orange) and it is not easy to get accurate information. it dates quickly and the information is lost in the noise. I had to spend a couple of days reading to get to the state of how things were.

We could require new users to do a few searches and spend a certain number of minutes reading posts before we allow them to post. Any attempt to post could greet them with a message explaining what to do.

Is there a plugin, or upgrade for the forum that would allow users to 'Vote' on topics, and have them be automatically removed or hidden if it reaches a certain negative value? Would mean no more moderators are required, and the community could self-regulate.

Or that - I know of a Forum that only adds new members on a Wednesday (or other arbitrary day) so anyone new has to wait up to a week to post.

You have the voting stuff at the top, but doesn't seem to do much, would be great if lots of 5 stars meant it was 'pinned' and 1 stars meant it was pushed down the list.

every forum has the same issues....

voting is kinda already in place - dont reply on the topic and it'll soon sink surely?
