In orders of easiness:

* Have you tried downloading Handcent (or other SMS application) from the market? This might be able to let you see them.

* If you download and open one of the stock roms you can find the original in /system/app and push it back to the phone?

* If you don't mind loosing your data you could re-flash a stock or custom rom.

As said above I would just download another stock rom and get it from there then use Root Explorer or put in System/App (may need restart)

Wouldn't it be easier just to put the stock message apk onto the micro sd card and then installing through a install app. Safes alot off messing. I do this with TouchPal because only way of getting it working (that i have found). Here is a link for the old OLED message apk and this is the new TFT/OLED display phones apk. Maybe worth a try.

The file sizes are arnt the same so make sure you get the right one. Might not matter but might be worth your while.

The OLED is 1.14mb and TFT/OLED is 1.16mb

Good Luck

Good advice here folks for me to mind in future and a harsh lesson learnt as lost an afternoon of messages I'll never know about!

Believe it or not the simple advice of download another app worked for future messages anyway then just deleted Go SMS and reinstalled and working fine now. I maybe shouldn't have deleted 'Messages' after all lol

Is there any of the non typical apps/files I can delete safely anyone knows of???? B) I know of the ones on the root, de-orange, no rom thread thanks!
