Clockwork install failure - Now can't connect to USB in recovery

Hey all, I ran the fastboot install and it all went ok, found the device and sent and wrote fine (apparently).

Only problem is when I restart the phone it still doesn't load the clockwork manager, I still just get a plain green android, and plugging it into USB now gives me the error "One of the USB devices attatched to this computes has malfunctioned".

I can still load up the phone fine though. I guess I've screwed up my recovery partition but is there any way to restore it? Thanks for any help!

Try booting into Clockwork by powering your phone by holding the volume key down.

Have you by any chance disabled USB debugging?

I can't boot into clockwork, it still only sits on the plain green android and I can't try re-installing clockwork because USB doesn't work in this mode since the last attempted install.

USB debugging is still enabled.

Cheers

What you might like to try and do is to uninstall and reinstall the drivers in Windows (i'm assuming you are using this operating system). You can do this via Device Manager.

Nah it's not that, I've tried it on a couple of machines now, both windows XP and 7, both say the device has malfunctioned. USB works fine when the phone's actually booted up though.

So have you tried booting holding the vol up and try reflashing clockwork, or did you just try it at the green android screen when recovery failed to load?

Might be worth trying a linux boot disc just to rule out the drivers being the issue

Failling all that I'm sure I read somewhere on here that you can flash clockwork from a terminal on the phone but no idea where it was.

I did yeah. I fixed it somehow another way though. Using the adb tool to reboot into the bootloader mode it seemed to get it to recognise. Not sure what the difference between doing it that way or doing it through the physical reboot + volume key is but I'm now in the Clockwork menu.

Cheers for your help anyway
