Guest neo76100 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) Hi, I just received this by mail: Here is the pdf: http://www.acer-android.fr/presse/FP_Liquid_Mini.pdf Edited January 6, 2011 by neo76100
Guest Fr-i Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Seriously, that looks awesome, i hope they have it in black, then i would consider it, im still very happy with my liquid!
Guest Temur Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 -512 MB RAM -3.2” Display -Radio FM <------------ xD -Qualcomm 7227, 600 MHz -Froyo
Guest zalex777 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) It looks pretty I think !! Good idea from acer ! I think girls would like much more those ones compared to the S100 or S120 ! Good job Acer ! Edited January 7, 2011 by zalex777
Guest fischschneehase Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 looks very pretty  but the cpu could be stronger B)
Guest HustlinDaily Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Small, lower resolution screen doesn't need a powerful processor to be snappy.
Guest Umka Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) This looks great I wish they made a full version of Liquid with a restyled body and colors. And maybe a better CPU..... Oh, and they also announced ne BeTouch e210 with QWERTY hardware keyboard http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/06/acer-an...d-froyo-phones/ Edited January 7, 2011 by Umka
Guest Elisha82 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Screen size has nothing to do with the cpu since the resolution is the same.
Guest Harness Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Reasonable. I like big smartphones though.
Guest Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 It's very nice indeed. Aimed to be a low budget smartphone ships with froyo and 2.6.32 kernel, no light sensor, no proximity sensor and a lighter version of Acer UI. Can be rooted with usual Froyo exploit like Z4. I'll try to post pics this week-end
Guest youpi666 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 2.6.32 kernel and light Acer UI ! I hope that someone made a dump of that

I'll try to post pics this week-end  I don't get this whole exploit business. It looks to me like all that's happening is an su binary and an app that reference it and manage it are installed on the system.. where's the exploit come into play? Harness.
Guest Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 As far as I know you don't get root access by simply asking for it. You need to exploit a weakness to hack it. The app only comes to give su access to the other apps. Someone else will certainly explain this better.
Guest studjuice Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Looks like it will out perform the Liquid, I like it :D
Guest Intenso74 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) Screen size has nothing to do with the cpu since the resolution is the same. What do you mean resolution is the same? Liquid = 800 x 480 Mini = 480 x 320 The design of that phone looks awesome. Wish it had better specs... Edited January 8, 2011 by Intenso74

Being able to root a device has nothing to do with a "weakness", infact it is a feature locked by default, but unlockable. Google had itself said recently that it wants its users to be able to root their devices. Also the su app is just their for managing all the root requests that are made to the os. http://android-developers.blogspot.com/201...s-openness.html
Guest fischschneehase Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Good review;) a dump would be interesting because of the light acer ui...

Guest Piter1225 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Good idea, but not worth upgrading from Acer Liquid A1 or LiquidE...
Guest bais Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 I love the Liquid Metal like design. And it has some nifty features. But it's not an upgrade for Liquid/E and it isn't supposed to be. It's supposed to compete against Xperia X8/Optimus One phones. I like how Acer keeps Liquid's design for their Liquid branded phones, the Liquid design really differenciate itself from others.
Guest lgcmn Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 nice model) but as far as i know it wont have flash..
Guest Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 It's clearly not aimed at replacing liquid/E/Metal. It's a low budget smartphone so it lacks a few things (flash and a flash) and it's a full plastic body.
Guest DiluTe Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 nice model) but as far as i know it wont have flash.. Since it will be released with Froyo, it should have Flash right?
